Bottle 3

Wow, this is unexpected.  Once again, not in character due to this being written on a extremely slow connection.  Basically we are all using a unsecure research wireless connection.  Pretty funny really.

Anyways, I am sure you are all wondering why I am using the internet two weeks before I get to Samoa, well…  We had an unexpected stop at the island of Palmyra.  Yea, freeking amazing eh?  Everyone is in high spirits and are happy to have the huge sail to Samoa broken up.  It makes it easier.

This island is inhabited by about 20 researchers and staff.  It is owned by the US government and used to be a military base.  The best part?  You can walk from one side to the other in less than a minute, yet the coral reef that surrounds the island (er, chain of small islands around the main, slightly bigger one) has more flora and fauna than alot of more well known reefs.  We got on the island around 4:00 and left around 6:00.  Tomorrow we are going to spend alot more time before leaving sometime tomorrow night.  Then its back to school.

In other news, there were a few questions after my last post.  So here are the answers.  As for who is Mr. Good Looking, well, he was our amazing Hawaiian tour guide who took us all to Pearl Harbor.  Pretty funny guy, really had the whole thing down.  Also there was a comment on my grammer…  Well, indeed I am writing most of my posts on the spot…  So if I make loads of mistakes its because I am pretty busy.  Also, one thing, if your comment doesn’t go on the blog right away please do not repost it.  I will moderate all comments at each port so if it doesn’t go right away I will eventually get it.  Thanks.

Anyways, Ima go and see if I can get some more stuff done.  I am having a great time and I am sure that yall are too.  Remember, just because I am gone doesn’t mean you can’t have about 10 parties every week.  They just wont be as fun.

Miss you all!  And I shall speak to yall again once I reach Samoa.  (or I might feel like posting again tomorrow…  Eh, we shall see.)

Wow what luck to have an extra stop! Nothing like feeling land under the feet after a long crossing. It’s the small things in life that count. Love your posts. And we understand about the grammar. Have fun!! Bring me back a shell.

You have now been to a place that 99.999999% of the world’s population have not been to, let alone heard of. What a pleasant surprise for you all.
PS Tell your cousin to write his poor loney mother!

It’s good to hear from you again so soon! I am glad you’re doing well, and I’m hope you’re letting the ladies get at least some sleep ;) . Scotty’s flying up to see me on Oct 6, so I’m totally psyched. I bought a tamagotchi last week! I named him bob. The casing is hot pink, and it makes me so happy. How’s your life? Is this an appropriate medium for communication, or should I reply to your e-mails instead?

    Love ya!

PS - I don’t understand about the grammar or spelling. Never have, never will. Do keep posting, though. It makes me happy.

Hmm, that explains why my posts never seemed to go through. Good thing I never reposted. Cool find with the island cap’n. Keep having a great time.

CARL!!! Woah totally didn’t get a chance to respond to the last post, because unlike you I go like 2-3 weeks without getting online. I’m weird I know. But i’m a veggie whatdya expect (hannah doesn’t count). Your trip sounds fantastic, minus the puke (a little ew). The snorkling and whales/dolphins sound so cool! I hope you miss me because I miss you. I have a Candadian math teacher! Just thought you should know…he’s from toronto too. I think Trisha said she was sending you pics from Jason’s party, because if not you might have forgotten what I looked like. Or at least not had a pic of me to stare at all the time, not to be weird but it is kind of necessary. Plus I am sure my hair grew like 1/8 inch since you last saw me. Sorry this is super long and hope to hear from you at Western Samoa!
